Job Description: The Merchandiser acts as the key link between the buyer and the production team, ensuring that customer requirements are accurately understood, costed, developed, and delivered on time with the required quality standards. Buyer Communication Coordinate with international and domestic buyers for product development and order execution. Understand buyer requirements, specifications, and timelines. Handle approvals for samples, trims, and fabrics. Product Development Work with the sampling department to develop new styles as per buyer tech packs. Ensure timely submission of proto, fit, and pre-production samples. Maintain records of buyer comments and revisions. Costing & Order Confirmation Prepare cost sheets and price quotations. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors for raw material prices. Confirm orders with buyers and prepare internal order sheets. Production Coordination Follow up with production, quality, and sourcing teams to ensure timely delivery. Track production status, material in-house dates, and shipment deadlines. Resolve any issues in production or shipment schedules. Material & Supplier Management Source fabrics, trims, and accessories based on buyer requirements. Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery. Maintain inventory and approval records. Documentation & Reporting Maintain order files, costing sheets, and correspondence. Coordinate with logistics for shipment and documentation. Prepare weekly status reports for management.
